Richard West, the chairman of Stone and District Swimming Club, said: “The club follows the ASA National Plan for swimming. If you have any experience of teaching swimming to advanced, intermediate, or beginners, or you have an interest in swimming and would perhaps like to receive partially-funded ASA Level 1 training to support our swimmers, please do not hesitate to get in touch via the club website at www.sadsc.co.uk

“Or you could come along to talk to one of our volunteers on a Monday evening (6.30pm to 8pm) or Saturday morning (8.30am to 10.15am).

“We have a passion for swimming but ensure that our members have fun and enjoy their learning. Why not give it a go and join our group of volunteers?

Olympic gold medallist Duncan Goodhew visited the club – which is totally volunteer-run – in April 2012. There are lots of photos, video and audio interviews from that brilliant night at Alleyne’s Sports Centre here – https://alittlebitofstone.com/2012/04/23/duncan-goodhew-makes-a-splash-in-stone/
