People in Stone are being urged to get involved in a new project in the town and make a real difference to someone living with dementia.
Volunteers – after appropriate training and DBS checks – will be working to connect their friend with local community activities, as well as regular home visits for a chat and a cup of tea.
The project is being run by the Douglas Macmillan Hospice and St Giles’ Hospice.
If you’re interested and want to find out more, an open event is being held on Wednesday 5th August at Stone Community Hub in Lichfield Street (Frank Jordan Centre) between 1.15pm and 2.45pm. For more information, call 01782 344300 or email louiseeagle@dmhospice.org.uk
A second open event will take place on Tuesday 11th August between 6pm and 8pm at Christ Church Centre in the town, with training set to take place in September.
