Transition Stone will be asking an important question at the first meeting of its Food Group – can Stone feed itself after the age of cheap oil?

The Food Group aims to encourage individual and community action to grow our own food. The first meeting is being held at the Ishta Centre in Kings Avenue on Monday 28th March from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

Rob Lindop from Transition Stone said: “By doing this we are reducing our dependence on oil that is used for producing and transporting our food. We aim to help create a healthy environment and thriving community by building a resilient food system for the town.”

Possible projects may include garden share schemes, community allotments, seed swaps and workshops.
