Artists from Stone and across the county are being encouraged to submit their work to the Staffordshire Open Art Exhibition 2016.
This prestigious exhibition, organised by The Shire Hall Gallery in Stafford, helps to highlight the wealth of creative talent within the county. The event also provides an ideal opportunity for local artists to display their work in a premier visual arts venue.
The exhibition is one of the gallery’s most popular exhibitions, attracting over 15,000 visitors each year. The competition is open to artists of any age who were born in Staffordshire or who live, work or study in the county.

[box type=”info” align=”aligncenter” ]Artists may submit their entries to the Shire Hall Gallery on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd April, during normal opening hours, with the Gallery being closed for selection on Monday 25th April.
Submissions can include: paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculpture and 3D mixed media. All works must be original and produced within the last three years. The exhibition opens to the public on Saturday 14 May and will run until Sunday 3 July 2016.
This year’s main prize of £1000 is sponsored by The University of Wolverhampton. The exhibition is also supported by: SCHOTT UK Limited, Stafford District Arts Council, The Barnett Ratcliffe Partnership, The Paper House in Stafford, Visit Stafford and Stafford Railway Building Society.
