A Channel 4 production team will be filming in Stafford next spring, and people in Stone are being invited to put themselves forward.

The Jury: Murder Trial, a BAFTA-winning series, is returning for a new run and casting has now opened locally. Filming is due to take place in Stafford town centre in March 2026, with participants being drawn from across Staffordshire, including Stone.
Rather than actors or legal professionals, the programme is built around members of the public.
Those selected are asked to step into a reconstructed courtroom and sit as a jury on a serious criminal case. The trial itself is a re-creation of a real prosecution, using the same evidence, testimony and timeline that the original jury heard.
From there, it plays out much as it would in real life.
Participants hear the case in full, talk it through together and are asked to reach a verdict. What the programme then explores is how people arrive at those decisions, and how personal experience, instinct and assumption can shape the outcome.
The first series won a BAFTA and prompted a lot of discussion around how the justice system feels from the jury box rather than the dock or the bench.

Casting locally, including Stone
Casting is being led by Trilogy Casting on behalf of Channel 4 and Screendog Productions.
They are looking for people aged over 18 who live in Staffordshire or within roughly an hour of Stafford, which includes Stone. No legal knowledge or courtroom experience is needed, and the production is keen to hear from people with a wide range of backgrounds and day-to-day lives.
Filming will take place over a period in March 2026. Those who take part will receive compensation to cover some loss of earnings, with travel expenses also covered.
Hally Laws, Casting Director at Trilogy Casting, said:
“We’re incredibly excited to begin another series of this powerful social experiment, which has sparked nationwide conversation about the UK justice system. We’re now looking for everyday people from Staffordshire and the surrounding areas.
If you’ve ever been curious about the justice system or wished you could experience jury service, we’d love to hear from you.”

Unfortunately, I think all the comments to this article prove that the majority of the general public should be kept off any jury.
