After an appeal on our Facebook page for local people to give them their old Christmas trees, 18 were delivered to Giggles & Wiggles nursery in Stone over the weekend!
The nursery wanted the trees for their Forest School activities. Giggles & Wiggles is an accredited Forest School nursery, which sees lots of time spent outdoors by the children in fun – but educational – activities.
The children cut the trees up today and will be making coasters out of the trunks. They will use the branches to help camouflage dens and shelters, and the rest of the trunk will be used to make camp fires!
Hannah Turner from the nursery said: “It’s all in a day’s work here at Giggles & Wiggles! Thanks to everyone who dropped off a tree for us – they’re really being put to good use. We never expected 18 so we’ve got more than enough now, so no more thank you!”
