Children get creative for Stone Puppet Festival

Schoolchildren across Stone have been busy making their own puppets for the town’s first puppet festival in August.

The Treasure Trove Puppet Company – who will be performing The Victorian Cinderella in the Crown Hotel ballroom during the festival on 8th and 9th August – have been working in local schools to help children create their own puppets. The puppets will be used to decorate town centre shop windows for festival weekend, or children can use them in the festival grand opening parade on Saturday 8th August.

The workshops – which are being funded through a crowdfunding campaign – have been held at Christ Church, Oulton and Pirehill first schools and Yarlet School. Our photographs were taken at Christ Church First School.
