In a shock announcement, Chilly Dum, that’s been incredibly well-reviewed, has been asked to vacate the Crown Hotel from today.
In an email to A Little Bit of Stone, Chilly Dum’s director Ansar Pullaniyil said:
“Good morning.
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Ansar Pullaniyil, and I am the director of Chilly Dum, a beloved restaurant that has been operating inside the Crown Hotel in Stone. It is with a heavy heart that I am writing to inform you and your readers about the closure of our establishment on the 20th of July due to disputes with the management of the Crown Hotel.
Chilly Dum started as a passion project, aiming to bring unique and flavorful dishes to the community. Over time, we have been blessed with incredible support from our patrons, which has been the cornerstone of our growth and success. However, despite our best efforts, we have encountered significant challenges with our tenancy that have led to this unfortunate decision.
As a subtenant of the Crown Hotel, we faced numerous issues. Despite making every effort to comply with the terms of our agreement and to negotiate a fair resolution, we have been informed that we must vacate the premises by the 20th of July.
This abrupt termination has come at a time when we were just beginning to see the fruits of our labor. We initiated our business during a slow period and endured significant hardships to build what we have today. The decision to close was not made lightly, and it is a direct result of circumstances beyond our control.
We want to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to all our customers. Your love and support have meant the world to us and have been instrumental in our journey. We are heartbroken to have to leave you under these conditions, but we hope to find a new location where we can continue to serve you in the future.”
A Little Bit of Stone has reached out to the Crown Hotel management for comment.

A Little Bit of Stone – If you are a real journalist, you don’t “reach out”. You ask.

What a particularly unnecessary comment.
Reach out means they attempted to contact the owners who I guess chose not to reply.
You can not demand an answer!

Sounds very similar to what happened to Chico’s a few years ago when they had to vacate the Crown Hotel. Hope Chilly Dum find a new venue.

The building is in urgent need of owners who will treasure it and spend some money restoring it to its former glory. Such a shame .

Surprise surprise just because you are doing do well and built your restaurant up they don’t like it cause you are doing so well good luck with finding a new venue and rebuilding your business and slap it down to them good luck guys

Sounds similar to the issues The Wren had.
Who exactly are the owners of The Crown Hotel? It might be appropriate to boycott The Crown Hotel to send a signal to the owners.

Why is it the first thought of people like you to do damage or harm to others? You have no idea who the owners are or any of the details yet you would want to put them out if business by boycotting.
Liz Mills
That was my first thought. The Wren has moved to better premises so I hope that Chilly Dum can too.

The crown hotel owners have had hotels burn down in the past, smells like insurance fraud heading our way, we should have taken Paragon group to do what they wanted with it when Stone was given the chance….. Huge mistake……
