Choir’s looking good in new T-shirts

Members of Flame try out their new T-shirts for size!

A choir for people with learning disabilities in Stone has been given a new set of T-shirts to make sure they’re looking at their best for their performances across the region.

South Staffordshire Housing Association (SSHA) has donated the T-shirts to Flame, a performance group run by Trinity Skills for Life in the town. The choir performs for churches, day centres and schools, inspiring audiences with their ability to sign and sing beautifully, despite many of them having verbal communication difficulties.

Alison Lloyd, volunteer teacher at Trinity Skills for Life, said: “We’re so grateful to everyone that has supported Flame. The T-shirts provided by SSHA will give these young people pride in the way they look on stage, as well as giving them a real sense of identity and belonging.”

Jan Goode, director of customer services at SSHA, added: “We are committed to helping groups such as Flame, as they give so much to our local community. The passion they have for singing and sharing music is inspirational and we are happy to support them as they perform across the region.”
