Bin collection day changes because of the Christmas and New Year holiday take effect in Stone from Saturday 18th December.
The changes are indicated on the calendars that were issued earlier in the year by Stafford Borough Council. If yours has gone missing, don’t worry, they are available online. The best way is to click here and enter your postcode and property number. Or you could call the council on 01785 619402.

Extra side waste allowed
Bin crews will be providing a one-off collection of side waste for collections between 29th December and 11th January.
- Green bins – Three bags of extra waste can be put out with the bin on your collection day between these dates
- Blue bins – A special collection of extra cardboard will be collected between these dates. It has to be tied in a bundle (not bagged) and placed at the side of the blue bin

Just a pity they couldn’t be bothered to collect the recycling bins last Friday, when the roads were perfectly clear.
The garden waste bins (practically empty for most people I should imagine) were emptied the same day, but what happened to the most important collection. There’s no excuse on this occasion!
Mine’s now crammed full, so I’ve either got to empty it into black plastic bags and take it to the tip, or use black plastic bags for the next fortnight which cats and foxes are going to rip open every night.
