Church remembers the fallen with exhibition

St Saviour’s Church in Aston is staging an exhibition, entitled Lest We Forget, of First and Second World War memorabilia on Friday 7th and Sunday 9th November.

The exhibition is open from 10am to 4pm on the Friday and on the Sunday from 11am to 4pm, after the Remembrance Sunday Service at 9.15am. There will also be a performance of famous wartime songs by the choir from St Michael’s First School on Friday 7th November at 6.30pm.

The exhibition is to commemorate those men from St Saviour’s parish who died in the two conflicts, and will include information on those who died, as well as a display of memorabilia, including postcards, magazines, newspaper articles, posters and more. There will also be poetry readings, together with Laurence Binyon’s poem ‘For The Fallen’ in full.
