Two friends from Stone are doing a coast-to-coast sponsored cycle ride to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Kim Bott, 28 (on the left in the photo), and Sophie Meir, 29, will be cycling from Whitehaven in Cumbria to Tynemouth near Newcastle-upon-Tyne on Friday 4th October – a journey that’s around 125 miles and will take around 12 hours to complete.
Kim explained why they are taking on such a gruelling challenge. She said: “We both enjoy fundraising as well as fitness and sport, so we decided to combine both and challenge ourselves to cycle coast-to-coast.
“Cancer Research UK is a great charity. Cancer touches everyone in their lifetime and they’re there to support those in need.”
So far, Kim and Sophie have raised 38% of their £1,500 fundraising target for for Cancer Research UK.
