The trustees of Stone Common Plott will be holding their annual general meeting in Stone Town Council’s council chamber on Wednesday 24th April from 8pm.
Members of the public are welcome to attend to find out more about the work that is going on to maintain one of the finest beauty spots in the town.
Stone Common Plot, which is owned by a charitable trust, comprises 20 hectares of summer grazing, let out to local farmers, a hay meadow and woodland.
It lies at the north end of the town and is a popular area for walking, relaxing and – when the snow falls – sledging!
The trustees recently appointed a new resident plotkeeper, Brett Lovatt, to supervise the cattle and to manage the land, fencing and footpaths for the benefit of public access and conservation.
