Following the first festival in 2005, 2014 marks the 10th year for the Stone Food & Drink Festival.
A Little Bit of Stone has teamed up with the Stone Food & Drink Festival to run 10 exclusive competitions to mark this big milestone.
Before we get on with the details for competition #3 here are the results for competition number 2.
We asked, What is the name of the scale used to measure the heat of chillies? (Link to 2nd Competition)
Well done to all the correct entrants who correctly named the measure as The Scoville Scale!
The reason for the question was that Lymestone Brewery are once again hosting The Chilli Off Competition.
Lymestone Brewery – Mount Industrial Estate ST15 8LL
Well established as the explosive start to the Festival!
Free to enter – just take 1 litre or 1 kilo of your chilli based culinary concoction to enter this annual Chilli competition. Prizes will be awarded for each ‘Best in Class’ and Class winners will then compete for the title of ‘Chilli-Off Champion 2014’. Real ales, cider, wine and soft drinks will be available at the bar. The competition gets hotter and hottter each year so get your entry form from the Brewery now! More details on the Brewery website – www.lymestonebrewery.co.uk or from brad@lymestonebrewery.co.uk
And the winner is……Mel Lester who wins a pair of tickets to the main festival site at Westbridge Park on Saturday 4th October.
OK, let’s crack on with exclusive competition #3!
The Real Ale Trail, this year sponsored by Afford Rent A Car of Fenton, is a great way to spend the evening visiting eight real ale pubs in our neighbouring villages and sampling their ales and nibbles! If you know a real ale fan, or are one yourself, then this is a great prize to win!
The prize on offer is a ticket to the 2014 Real Ale Trail.
To enter the competition, simply send the answer to this question…
Where do the Real Ale Trail buses depart from?
… to competitions@alittlebitofstone.com by 8pm on Sunday 17th August. Please include your name, address and contact number in the email. Your email will be added to the Food & Drink Festival mailing list but will not be shared with anyone else.
We’ll announce the winner – and reveal competition number four, on Monday 18th August.
