Consultation on ward boundaries nears end

Time is running out to tell the independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England what you think of proposals for new council ward boundaries in Stone and across Stafford Borough.

The public consultation closes on 24th June.

The Commission’s draft recommendations propose that Stafford Borough Council should have 40 councillors in the future, 19 fewer than the current arrangements. The proposals mean those councillors would represent seven single-member wards, fifteen two-member wards and one three-member ward across the borough.

Max Caller, Chair of the Commission, said: “We are keen to hear local views about our boundary proposals before we finalise them in September. We want to make sure ward boundaries across Stafford reflect the identities and interests of local communities as well as delivering electoral fairness for voters. This is your last chance to have your say before we finalise the recommendations.”
