Polling cards are being delivered this week for the Walton by-elections to win a seat on Stafford Borough Council and Stone Town Council.
Residents in the Walton ward will be voting for a new representative on both councils next month following the death of Councillor Mike Carey, who died in July aged 65.
Polling cards will be dropping on doorsteps from this week.

The borough council is also urging people to check whether they are registered on the electoral roll to ensure they can vote. You have until 5pm on Wednesday 5th October to register to vote. If you require a postal vote you must also register for one before 5pm on 5th October.
The election will take place on Thursday 20th October with polling stations open from 7am until 10pm on the day. There are more than 4,600 people eligible to vote in the Walton ward.
Returning Officer Ian Thompson, the chief executive of Stafford Borough Council, said: “It is important if people want to have a say in the way their community is run that they first make sure they are registered to vote, and then they use their vote on the day.”
