Crossroads Youth Club to hold bake sale for Brain Tumour Charity

Stone Crossroads Youth Club is set to hold a fundraising bake sale later this month in support of The Brain Tumour Charity.

The Big Bake

The event will take place on Monday 16 March 2026, with families being asked to donate baked treats, buy cakes on the night, or give online through the club’s JustGiving page.

Cakes, donations and match funding

The bake sale forms part of The Big Bake 2026, a month long fundraising campaign running throughout March for Brain Tumour Awareness Month.

At Crossroads Youth Club, the local event will be held during the club session on Monday evening. Cakes can be dropped off when children arrive at 6pm, and parents will also be able to buy cakes at drop off or collection. Some will be kept back for young people to buy during the evening, with any remaining cakes sold later on.

Most cakes will be priced at £1 each, with larger cakes cut into slices.

Families who send donations in containers they want back are being asked to label them clearly with their child’s name.

There is also an added boost to the fundraising effort. London Stone has agreed to match fund everything raised, meaning every £1 donated will become £2 for the charity.

Parents who would rather not bring cash on the night can also donate online through the club’s JustGiving page.

A cause close to home

For the youth club, this is not just another fundraiser.

Organisers say the appeal is especially personal for two of the club’s volunteers. Cindy lost her sister to a brain tumour. Val lost her brother when he was 32, and also lost her son Jonathan to the disease two years ago.

That personal connection has helped shape the event, giving it extra weight beyond the cakes and donations.

The club says all money raised will go towards helping The Brain Tumour Charity fund research and support services for people affected by the disease.

According to the campaign information shared by the organisers, 34 people in the UK are diagnosed with a brain tumour each day. The charity is using The Big Bake campaign to raise funds during Brain Tumour Awareness Month and push for faster progress in treatment and care.

How families can help

Crossroads Youth Club is asking families to support the event in whatever way they can.

That could mean baking something at home, picking up a few shop bought treats, sending children with a little spending money, or making a donation online.

For a regular Monday evening in Stone, it is a simple idea. But with match funding in place, and with the cause meaning so much to those involved, the club will be hoping plenty of people get behind it.
