Yes, Leanne, I had picked up that the new owners already had the Crown Hotel in Longton and did the same as you ie checked it out on Tripadvisor and, subsequently, have also found it has a reputation that is well known in the Potteries and not for the right reasons. Doesn’t bode well, does it? We can only hope that they make a better job of our Crown and we get the type of place the Town (and the building) deserves.
The reviews do say that the staff and food in the Longton crown are good. However, that doesn’t fit with the comments about the poor décor, smell, hygiene, etc. Perhaps it is just the area that it’s in.
I hope that the new management will pick up on concerns and keep us all informed about their plans, the quality of the applicants that they have, etc.

This is great news for Stone. Let’s hope time, effort and investment is dedicated to the Crown hotel to regenerate the building in to what it deserves to be.

This is the best news that Stone has heard for quite some time. We have missed the Crown Hotel since it closed. It would be fair to say that the heart of the Town will be returning.
