Cullens in Stone has made it into the prestigious 2016 Good Food Guide, the only restaurant in Staffordshire to be featured.
Since 1951, The Good Food Guide has reviewed the best restaurants, pubs and cafés across the UK. Each year, the Guide is completely rewritten and compiled from scratch. All reviews are based on the huge volume of feedback that is received from readers, together with anonymous inspections.
Kara Cullen, who runs the restaurant with chef husband Richard, said: “The fact that customers have recommended us to the Good Food Guide means they really appreciate what we’re doing. We’re so thrilled they’ve taken the time to do this. It is really flattering to be featured in such a prestigious and well established publication that’s now in its 65th year.
“We had no idea we were going to be featured as you can’t apply to be in it , you are anonymously inspected on a number of occasions after recommendations. It was a great feeling when we found out and we were quick to spread the word amongst our staff and congratulate them as all their hard work has been rewarded with this brilliant accolade. They all work exceptionally hard both in the kitchen and front of house.
“All the team are from Stone and so we are all very proud to put Stone on the culinary map. All of them are just as proud as I am to be in the guide. The week of the Stone Food and Drink festival we are putting together a nine-course tasting menu with the option of paired wines. What a great way to celebrate!”
Cullens opened in Radford Street in October 2013 and last year made the Michelin Guide. More information and menus on their website HERE
