Cullens restaurant in Stone will be closing on 21st May, owners Richard and Kara Cullen have revealed.
They posted this update on their Facebook page on Thursday evening:
It says: “It has been amazing to own and run a business within such an amazing town and whatever is next for the site I know this community will support and welcome it with open arms.”
Cullens opened in October 2013 and quickly earned a reputation for stunning food from chef Richard Cullen and sous chef Jack Harries. The restaurant made both the prestigious Good Food Guide and the Michelin Guide – the only restaurant in the whole of Staffordshire to do so.
Richard won Staffordshire Young Chef Of The Year in 2006 and Staffordshire Master Chef in 2008 and 2013. He also appeared on BBC’s Masterchef The Profesionals in 2009 and was a finalist in the Gordon Ramsey scholarship competion, as well as making the top 10 in 2013’s Roux Scholarship competition. This year he made the final of the Chef of the Year competition. He’s worked at The Dorchester London, Gordon Ramsey at Claridges and Hibiscus in Ludlow.
Richard has also appeared in the demonstration marquee at every Stone Food & Drink Festival.
All the very best to Richard, Kara, Jack and all the team at Cullens – we’re very sorry to see you go.
