Stone Old Alleynians came within four minutes of JW Hunt Cup glory at Molineux.
The Old Boys were 1-0 up thanks to a first-half Danny Heard goal and heading for victory before a Tividale equaliser with just minutes left on the clock took the game into extra time. Tividale – three divisions higher – scored three times in the added period to give the result an unflattering gloss.
It’s been an incredible season for the Old Boys, including promotion, two semi-finals and the JW Hunt Cup final played at the home of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Manager Matt Smith said: “I was extremely proud of all my players. It was a fantastic performance. We move forward from this match – and from the whole season – with our heads held high.”
