Student Dean Morris, currently living in Nottingham but originally from Stone, will be exhibiting his work at Nottingham Trent University degree show until Saturday 11th June.
Dean is also making a name for himself as an actor.
[box type=”shadow” align=”aligncenter” ]He says: “My artwork consists of a pop-up shop selling Dean Morris merchandise, including life-size chocolate heads as a poke in the notion of celebrity, as well as a film I was in which was made in and around Stoke by Chinwag Films called Buy Me a Suit.
“As part of my work I am going to be riding an exercise bike throughout the opening times of the degree show in order to raise money for Emmanuel House, a charity that exists to support homeless, vulnerable or isolated adults in and around Nottingham and relies solely on donations.” [/box]
Dean’s no stranger to charitable causes. Last year he joined in the flan-flinging fun at a Tiswas birthday party in Stone to raise funds for Chris Evans’ Children in Need Carfest event, and has recently used his loaf and embarked on a tasty quest to feed the homeless.
He explains: “I have noticed a rise in the amount of people living on the streets over the four years I have lived in Notts, which led me to start ‘Sandwich Sundays’ where a few mates of mine make sandwiches with assorted fillings, and give them out to people around the city.”
