D&G Bus is set to take over two bus services in the Stone area later this month, with a new route also being introduced for Aston Lodge.

From Monday 30 March 2026, the company will operate the 102 and 102A services, which are currently run by Bennetts Travel.
The change follows the award of a Staffordshire County Council contract.
As part of it, D&G is also bringing in a new service A between Stone and Aston Lodge.
The 102 and 102A are not completely new routes. People already using them will recognise much of the existing service.
Current timetables show there is no Sunday service now on either the 102 or 102A, so this is not a case of Sunday buses being dropped.

The full bus routes are:
Service 102 journeys via Swynnerton: Christchurch Way, Stafford Street, Stafford Road, Stone Road, Yarnfield Lane, Yarnfield Parkway, Yarnfield Lane, Meece Road, Swynnerton Road, Main Street, Tittensor Road, Stone Road, Newcastle Road, Newcastle Street, Station Road, Granville Square, Radford Street, Christchurch Way.

Why can we not have a bus service for Walton? it was always well used and helped a good number of people who live near the top of Pirehill Lane

The new route to Aston Lodge Park, will the bus go round the estate as it did before or will it stop on Aston Lodge parkway go round the roundabout and exit on Aston Lodge parkway. If there is only the one stop then having to walk there from the far end of the estate might be too far for the elderly and those with mobility issues.

Any chance of a bus on the old Pirehill Lane route, a lot of elderly people live on these estates.
