Be quick: Stafford Borough Council has a small amount of grant funding available for those interested in hosting an event on Stone High Street but the deadline is fast approaching.
Writing on the Stafford Borough Council website, they say:
“To follow on from our High Street Boost workshops, we are looking for interesting and innovative events to help support our High Streets. A small amount of funding as a contribution to events that can be delivered before March 2025 will be made available.
These events will fall under the UKSPF Investment Priority – Supporting Local Businesses.
Intervention:
- E17: Funding for the development and promotion (both trade and consumer) of the visitor economy, such as local attractions, trails, tours and tourism products more generally.
Example projects:
- Development of other local visitor experiences based around the local offer
- Development of local visitor trails and tours
Indicative Outputs:
- Number of people reached
- Number of local events or activities supported
Indicative Outcomes:
- Increased footfall
- Increased visitor numbers
- Increase in visitor spending”
If you are interested in hosting an event, send an email to economy@staffordbc.gov.uk with the subject line Events.
You’ll need to tell them that it’s Stone you’re applying for and also include the following supporting information:
- Date of proposed event
- Type of event
- Target audience
- Expected number of attendees
- Number of local businesses supported
- The total cost of the event
- Amount of funding requested
- Experience in delivering town centre events
- Marketing plan to promote event
Two senior council officers will review expressions of interest, and grants will be awarded to those who:
- Offer value for money
- Can deliver the outputs/outcomes mentioned above
- Offer a unique event/s to attract a wider audience
- Show investment/match funding from the organiser
The deadline for applications is the 30th of September 2024.
