Stone residents are being urged to check their bin calendars, or online, so they know when their waste will be collected over the Christmas and New Year period.
There will be revised collection dates for green, blue and brown bins in the borough from Saturday 19 December 2020 until 9 January 2021.
As reported at the end of November, people need to sign up to continue having their brown bin garden waste collected from 1 January. Stone residents can sign up for the optional annual £36 service (per brown bin) from today to ensure they get their bins collected in the new year – www.staffordbc.gov.uk/brownbin
The borough council is also encouraging residents to check the rescheduled dates on their collection day calendars or at www.staffordbc.gov.uk/collectiondays as a reminder, all bins should be out by 7am on the revised collection days.
From 2021 Stafford Borough Council will no longer be automatically posting out the paper calendars as it looks to reduce its paper waste and save taxpayers money. SBC has advised that if you do not have access to the internet and require a copy of your calendar you can contact them on 01785 619402 to arrange for one to be sent to you.
Homes across the borough currently recycle around 55% of all the waste collected from the doorsteps. Tips for recycling over the festive period – such as places to compost Christmas Trees – can be found on the council’s website at www.staffordbc.gov.uk/christmas-recycling-and-waste-arrangements-2020-21
To sign up to continue with the brown bin garden waste service go to www.staffordbc.gov.uk/brownbin or contact the council at 01785 619402.
