A full programme of Easter reflections, family activities and celebrations is set to take place across Christ Church, Stone, St John’s in Oulton and All Saints, Moddershall this April.
Services across Holy Week provide space for quiet contemplation, joyful worship and creative community moments as the churches mark the journey from Palm Sunday to Easter Day.
Holy Week highlights
The commemorations begin with Palm Sunday on 13th April, recalling Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem:
- 9:15 am at Christ Church, Stone
- 11:00 am at St John’s, Oulton
- 11:00 am at All Saints, Moddershall
Maundy Thursday, 17th April brings a reflective service remembering the Last Supper:
- 7:30 pm at St John’s, Oulton
Good Friday, 18th April focuses on the crucifixion and Christ’s sacrifice, with a range of events for all ages:
- 10:00 am: Children’s Easter Crafts at Christ Church Centre
- 10:00 am: Procession from St Michael’s
- 10:45 am: Joint service for all at Christ Church, Stone – followed by Hot Cross Buns
- 7:00 pm: Evening meditation at Christ Church with Bible readings, music, and stillness
Easter Sunday, 20th April will be marked by celebrations across all three churches, rejoicing in the resurrection:
- 9:15 am at Christ Church, Stone
- 11:00 am at St John’s, Oulton
- 11:00 am at All Saints, Moddershall
Holiday Club fun for younger ones
For children in Reception to Year 6, Holiday Club returns from Tuesday 22nd to Friday 25th April, running from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm each day at Christ Church Centre. This year’s theme is “Starship Discovery,” blending stories, crafts and games in a fun, faith-based setting.
The week wraps up with a special family breakfast and service at 9:15 am on Sunday 27th April at Christ Church.
