Developer Internetbase Ltd wants to demolish the pub building and replace it with a housing. Residents and regulars objected and put together a 500-signature petition in the hope Stafford Borough Council would refuse planning permission.

Members of the council’s planning committee voted unanimously to defer a decision at a meeting back in May. They admitted that the Vine building would no longer be a pub on the new estate, but want Birmingham-based Internetbase to include the building in their plans.
