Entries to the 2021-22 Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism & Good Food Awards are still being accepted, but time is running out as the deadline approaches.
To be recognised as Staffordshire’s best attractions, accommodation providers, and food & drink businesses, Friday 22nd October is the last chance to take part in this year’s competition.
The awards, sponsored by We Are Staffordshire, are the only route for Staffordshire businesses to the prestigious VisitEngland Awards for Excellence, where they could be named the best in the country!
There are 18 categories in total, with awards for specific business types including Large Visitor Attraction of the Year, sponsored by Insight6, and Experience of the Year, sponsored by Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, as well as categories for hotels, pubs, restaurants and holiday cottages.
Alongside them, there are cross-sector awards open to all types of tourism businesses, like the New Tourism Business of the Year, and the Ethical, Responsible & Sustainable Tourism Award, sponsored by the Staffordshire Business & Environment Network.
New for 2021, for individuals who go above and beyond to give visitors a great experience, is the ‘Unsung Hero Award’, and the ‘Resilience & Innovation Award’, for businesses which adapted to survive and thrive through the pandemic.
Philip White, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member responsible for tourism at Staffordshire County Council, said: “After a challenging 18 months, it’s time to celebrate our vital tourism and hospitality businesses and thank them for the huge contribution they make to our local economy and putting Staffordshire on the map.
“The closing date for the Tourism & Good Food Awards is almost here, so you’re running out of time to be recognised as the best in the county, and for us to celebrate your hard work and commitment to providing unforgettable experiences.
“Get your entries in before 11:59pm on Friday 22nd October and you could be celebrating at our gala awards evening in early 2022.”
