Stagecraft Dance & Performing Arts School, which is based at the purpose-built Rooftop Studios in Stone, is celebrating yet another year of exam success, with both its ballet and drama pupils having performed exceptionally well in recent RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) and LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) exams.
Stagecraft has an excellent track record in exams, with many students going on to pursue a career on the stage. 2013 has proven a particularly strong year in the RAD ballet exams, with a total of 34 students entered in levels ranging from Pre-Primary to Grade 5 Ballet. The students achieved a 100% pass rate, with numerous merits and distinctions to boot, a huge testament to the school’s strong ballet teaching team.
In LAMDA Drama, meanwhile, the students achieved results to match the ballet with a 100% pass rate. In addition to gaining valuable UCAS points to add to their University application forms, they will be able to add intensive drama coaching from professional performers Nick Earnshaw and Kit Henson, alongside regular roles in Rooftop Studios’ productions, to their CV.
Principal Elaine Bird, a qualified licentiate of LAMDA, said: “We’re thrilled with the results of both the LAMDA Drama and RAD Ballet examinations this year. We pride ourselves on the fact that our teachers are all professional performers in their own right, so not only do they have the qualifications to teach, but they know exactly what it takes to get to the top in their profession, so can inspire youngsters to reach their full potential.”
