Stone Library is hosting a series of engaging and educational events for all ages this May.

As the weather begins to warm, Stone Library invites the community to a month brimming with activities that promise fun, learning, and engagement for everyone. There’s something for every age group, from environmental awareness to creative crafts.

Here’s what’s happening at your Stone Library this month:

1. Green Themed Treasure Hunt

  • Dates: 1st – 31st May, All Day
  • Cost: Free
  • Age Group: Any
  • Details: Dive into recycling in a fun way! Explore the library and find all the hidden items in our special green-themed treasure hunt.

2. The Power is in Our Hands: Basic British Sign Language Workshop

  • Date: Friday, 10th May, 10:30 am
  • Cost: Free (Booking essential)
  • Age Group: Adults
  • Details: This is a beginner’s workshop focusing on the basics of British Sign Language. Participants will learn how to sign the alphabet and common phrases like “please” and “thank you.”

3. Seed Bomb Making

  • Date: Saturday, 11th May, 10:00 am

  • Details: Get your hands dirty making seed bombs and help beautify your local area. It’s not just for kids; adults can join in, too!

4. Family Film Activity

  • Details: Immerse yourself in eco-friendly storytime sessions celebrating the beauty of our planet.

6. Green Themed Baby Bounce and Rhyme (BBR)

  • Date: Monday, 20th May, 10:00 am
  • Cost: Free (Booking essential)
  • Age Group: 0-3 years
  • Details: This is a special session for the little ones, with songs about wildlife and nature, perfect for introducing them to the joys of the natural world.

7. Dogs Trust Workshop

  • Date: Wednesday, 29th May, 10:30 – 11:30 am
  • Cost: Free (Booking essential)
  • Age Group: 7-11 years (accompanied by an adult)
  • Details: Learn how to be a dog’s best friend in this informative workshop about safety and care around dogs.

8. Rock Painting

  • Date: Friday, 31st May, 11:30 am

  • Age Group: 4+ years
  • Details: Show your artistic flair by painting and hiding rocks around the community for others to find.

9. Sign Time, Storytime
