An artist who is fighting cancer is using an exhibition at Stone’s Radford Gallery to raise funds for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice.
Gwyneth Davy from Meir Heath is currently undergoing treatment after being diagnosed earlier this year. She suffered another devastating blow last year when her son Sean, who worked at Stone’s Granvilles restaurant, was killed in a hit and run collision.

Gwyneth, aged 69, will be donating cash raised from the sales of her landscape paintings at the gallery in Radford Street to the Douglas Macmillan Hospice.
She said: “I haven’t used the hospice but they do a wonderful job and they can offer one-to-one care. I was devastated when I was diagnosed in March. I’ve just finished chemotherapy and started radiotherapy this month, but my art is a therapy in itself.”
The exhibition opens on Saturday December 4th, when Gwyneth will be at Radford Gallery to talk about her walk from 9.15am to 4.30pm. It runs until Christmas.
