Explosive start to food fest with Chilli Off!

Festival chairman Richard Stevens, left, with Viv and Brad from Lymestone Brewery

This year’s Stone Food & Drink Festival gets under way in earnest on Saturday (27th September) with Lymestone Brewery’s Chilli Off competition.

Doors will open at the Mount Road brewery at 7pm, with judging starting at 7.30pm with the starters, followed by main courses, then desserts, condiments and finally drinks. There will be a prize for each of the courses and then an overall champion will be crowned.

All you need to do to enter is produce 1 kilo or 1 litre of your chilli-based concoction and take it along on the night. Complete an entry form (you can send them in to the brewery in advance if you wish) and then join in the fun. Courses will be judged in order and once finished everyone is encouraged to taste each other’s food and enjoy the stories about where the recipes are from and how the meal was produced.
