Stone Dominoes Ladies beat Malvern Town 5-1 at the weekend to progress comfortably to the second round of this year’s Women’s FA Cup, with last season’s top scorer Mollie Prime netting four goals.

Central defender Hayley Mason was on hand to score the first Dominoes goal after 25 minutes with a header after a quality Kerry McCourt corner. Mollie Prime netted soon after with a one-v-one against the keeper and calmly slotted home her second of the game soon after.

Malvern created few chances and most of their attacks were dealt with by Stone’s strong defence of Lisa Elliott, Becky Arnold, Hayley Mason and Simone Kelsall. Jules Kendrick created the fourth goal after her quick feet in the box set up Prime for her hat-trick.

The second half saw Dominoes make three changes: Hannah Perry came on as striker, Nat Price came into centre midfield and Bethan Woodings slotted into right back.

The ladies made the visitors work hard off the ball by playing simple passes across the park. After Malvern had pulled one back, Stone hit back in style with Prime getting her fourth of the game and putting the Dominoes Ladies into the next round of the FA Cup. They played some superb football at times and now are looking forward to their first home game against Bilbrook, 2pm kick-off at Wellbeing Park, Yarnfield, on Sunday 13th September.

The next round of the FA cup will be against Wyrley FC on Sunday 20th September
