This Easter, local families are being urged to “staycation”, and explore the county’s many attractions.
The county promises something for all the family over the holidays, whether its Easter egg hunts, clay pot making, family cycle rides in beautiful countryside, or a classic car show.
Both of Staffordshire’s leading theme parks are fully reopened for the 2019 season, ready for Easter egg-citement. The Alton Towers Resort opens its brand-new Dungeon attraction this year which takes guests on a hilariously hideous journey through Staffordshire’s darkest history. Drayton Manor Park features Easter Egg trails across the park, along with over 100 rides and attractions and live shows throughout the day with Thomas and Friends.
Churnet Valley Railway brings to life the beloved literature classic Alice in Wonderland with The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. Hop on one of the specially decorated trains running through Staffordshire’s scenic countryside whilst enjoying themed treats.
Showcasing a spectacular display of cars and other vehicles from vintage, classic to modern, new for 2019 at Weston Park is the Easter Motor Show, perfect for enthusiasts and families alike.
Discover treats in The Trentham Monkey Forest, where prizes are on offer for cracking the clues on their Easter trail and at Tamworth Castle, where Ruby the Dragon needs some help finding the hidden Easter eggs. There’s lots of Easter activities happening down at the National Adventure Farm in Burton too. Families can ride the Easter Eggspress Tractor, walk through the woodland path, help feed lambs, go on a treasure hunt and meet the Easter Bunny.

“We have a thriving tourism economy here in Staffordshire and a fantastic range of attractions, historic houses and beautiful countryside. We have world-class theme parks, along with many smaller family-owned attractions all of which play a vital part in our visitor economy. I’d definitely urge people to consider a ‘staycation’ this Easter.”
