Family’s fundraising marathon for hospital

Cath and Neil Lavelle with Dylan and daughters Sophie and Chloe

Cath and Neil Lavelle, who live on the Whitebridge estate, are both running the Stafford Half Marathon on 17th March to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital for all it has done for their baby son Dylan.

When Cath was 28 weeks’ pregnany they found out that Dylan had kidney problems and there was the chance they could lose him. Dylan is only nine months’ old but has already had two operations and numerous visits to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Cath said: “Dylan is doing fantastically well at the moment but we just don’t know what the future holds as there is a strong chance of renal failure and transplantation. But for now we are enjoying every special moment together. Any contribution, even a pound, would be fantastic. Birmingham Children’s Hospital is amazing and all those children it cares so wonderfully for need our support. A big thank you if you are able to help.”
