The Revellers staged Carry On Up Pompeii 2 last week, which got a great review in The Sentinel. Here’s a great bit of video from the show too…
Ghost Writer is set in the attic of Alex’s house, where his friend Edward, a once successful playwright, is staying. Edward can’t bear to go back to his own house following the suspected suicide of his wife Ruby. Alex is trying to distract Edward from his self-pity by setting him up with Glenda, a younger aspiring actress. This plan may even have worked but Ruby, Edward’s “dear” departed wife, decides that this is the moment to make a reappearance to clear her name and find out who murdered her.
Ruby wants Edward to write a play about the events of the night that she died and to invite all the main suspects to take part in a play reading in an attempt flush out the killer. Cue the arrival of Hedley and Frances, two old campaigners on the acting circuit who both have big egos and sharp tongues. So what are we left with? Six people, one of which is dead, who either fancy or hate each other, all stuck in a crummy bedsit. Comedy ensues!
