Festive MASH bash raises charity cash!

Staff at Staffordshire’s Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), based at Lindum House in Stone, raised over £1,500 for two carers’ charities at their black tie festive ball at the Stone House Hotel.

The MASH brings partnership agencies together in one place, which enables information sharing across organisations involved in safeguarding in areas such as child sexual exploitation, vulnerable adults, and domestic abuse. This arrangement helps ensure that those in particular need are referred to the most appropriate agency at the earliest opportunity.

The MASH bash was a black tie ball and was attended by safeguarding professionals working within the MASH and their guests. It was a perfect opportunity to not only support local charities, but for the numerous agencies that come together in the MASH to celebrate the good work they do on a daily basis.

The fundraising effort supported a couple of less well-known charities working within Staffordshire – North Staffs Carers Association and the Carers Association Southern Staffordshire (CASS). They both provide confidential advice, information and emotional support and a range of other services to carers living in the districts in Staffordshire. All of these services are free of charge.

Detective Sergeant Anne-Marie Large, who organised the event, said: “This was an opportunity for us all to come together outside of work but still do something to help some of the most vulnerable in our communities. We held a raffle using prizes donated by staff within the MASH, and from those donations we were also able to put together some hampers to raffle off on the night. There was also a small silent auction. The Stone House Hotel did us proud and the food was really good.”

The event raised £1,627.27, which will be evenly split between the two charities.
