Fireworks and Jubilee beacon tonight!

Stone’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations continue on Monday night with fireworks and the lighting of the town’s Jubilee beacon – and hopefully not a single drop of rain. We deserve that after yesterday’s downpours surely?!

The fuse to the firework display – set to suitably patriotic music – is being lit at Crown Meadow at 10pm. Then it’s straight over to St Michael’s Church for the lighting of the Diamond Jubilee beacon, one of thousands being lit across the country, including one by the Queen herself after the pop concert in London.

The beacon is expected to be lit at 10.15pm, but it could be a bit later as it follows a chain of beacons across the country, with one being lit beforehand at a farm in Pirehill. The one after the St Michael’s beacon will be at Downs Bank in Barlaston!

Hope you can make it tonight!
