Stone Community First Responders are holding a charity ball to raise funds for their vital work in the town.
The ball is being held at the Stone House Hotel in Stafford Road on Saturday 9th April between 7pm and 1am. Tickets cost £30 and include a three-course dinner and disco.
The responders – who are all volunteers – really do play a hugely important role in the town. They are all trained to respond to emergency calls and to provide immediate care to patients before the arrival of an ambulance.
By providing vital life-saving first aid before the ambulance arrives, they really can be the difference between life and death.
Stone Community First Responders cover an area within a 5km radius of Stone town centre.
Like all responder groups across the country, we are not funded and all time is given voluntarily. The money that is needed to purchase equipment, uniforms and a vehicle has to be raised through fundraising events or public or private donations. Their responder car, in fact, is supplied and maintained by Hill & Swift and fuelled by Fairway Service Station.
