The Flip Out trampoline arena opened its doors on Saturday (19th December) and A Little Bit of Stone and our 50 competition winners put it to the test a couple of hours before it opened to the public. Here’s our verdict…
Based in the old City Link warehouse on Stone Business Park, the cavernous building has been transformed into a 27,000 sq ft arena totally dedicated to bouncing.
There are two arenas – the main arena and a separate one for juniors – and the trampolines also go up on to the walls for some fancy tricks! Staff are on hand to show you some moves and tips, and they’re always willing to take photos. In fact, they were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and there’s lots of them, including some sat on top of big triangular trampolines to keep an eye on everyone.
There’s a big foam pit that you can bounce into, and a much smaller one in the children’s area, plus a trampoline half pipe. Coming soon – it wasn’t quite ready for launch day – is a trampoline basketball court.
As well as hourly sessions, activities on offer include fitness classes, children’s parties, Little Ninja and Mini Flipper classes and After Dark sessions on Friday nights complete with a DJ and light show. Bookings for parties and hourly sessions can now be made online – and we can’t recommend Flip Out highly enough.

There’s a brilliant atmosphere in there. Music, friendly staff and – on launch day – members of Stoke Elite Trampoline Club (www.stokeelitetc.com) showing how it should really be done! There’s a cafe on the first floor with a great viewing area and plenty of seating.
There’s something incredibly infectious about trampolining – it certainly puts a smile on your face and it’s definitely good exercise. Apparently, a vigorous 10-minute trampoline session is equivalent to 30 minutes of running in terms of cardiovascular impact. An hour-long session is enough, that’s for sure. I almost crawled back to our car after we’d finished!
An hour-long session costs £10 per person, with lower costs for the Little Ninja and Mini Flipper classes. Fitness sessions cost £11 per class, or £80 for a 10-week term. Full details of all the activities and costs are on the Flip Out website.
[box type=”shadow” ]Stephanie Brown said: “I will definitely be taking my three-year-old son back for the Mini Flippers sessions. It costs £8 for a child (adult free) between 9am and 3pm all for under-fives. And my daughter has asked for her birthday there too! I can’t recommend this place highly enough and it has really opened my eyes to trampolining. It really does boost your energy, self esteem and confidence. If you have children or want to visit and do flips and twists in a safe, guided environment. Flip out Stoke is the place to go.”[/box]
Steph has blogged about Flip Out HERE.
Lix Hanscomb thought the staff were “really friendly” and the trampolines “great fun – the giant foam pit was the best”.
Daniel Curtis added: “I had an absolutely fantastic time with friends at Flip Out. A completely unique experience and one I’ll definitely be going back to. It’s sure to become a very important addition to the activities already on offer in the local area.”
Sharon Jenkinson said: “It’s brilliant to find an activity that I can enjoy with my teenage daughter, something that we both equally enjoyed. We will definitely be going again.”
One thing’s for sure, the grown-ups loved it just as much as the kids!
