Flowers in the frame at Stone library

Staffordshire artist Anne Searle has an exhibition of her paintings on show in Stone library until 30th March.

Anne works mainly in watercolours and and has been painting flower portraits for over 30 years. Born in Derbyshire, she studied general art and painting at Chesterfield College of Art and trained as a graphic designer at the London Central School of Art. She taught lithography and life drawing at Chesterfield College of Art before moving to Surrey, and then on to Staffordshire.

Anne says: “My painting is everything to me. I work all day and sometimes it still does not seem enough. I eat, sleep and drink pictures!”
