Flowers, music and memories at Oulton’s 150th anniversary festival


St. John’s Church invites the community to a weekend of celebration, colour and song from 13th to 15th June.

St. John the Evangelist’s Church in Oulton is preparing to mark a major milestone this June with a special Flower Festival weekend in celebration of its 150th anniversary.

The church, a cherished part of the village’s history, will open its doors across three days from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th June, inviting residents and visitors alike to admire beautiful floral displays and enjoy a line-up of community-led events.

Visitors can explore the open church at the following times:

  • Friday 13th June, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
  • Saturday 14th June, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
  • Sunday 15th June, 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm

A highlight of the weekend will be the Opening Night Concert on Friday at 7:00 pm, featuring performances from Oulton First School Choir and The CK Community Choir. Tickets are priced at £5 and include drinks and nibbles, making it a lovely way to spend a summer evening with friends and neighbours.

On Sunday morning, the community is invited to join a Songs of Praise Service at 11:00 am, celebrating the church’s long-standing place in the heart of Oulton.

The festival is a chance to enjoy stunning floral arrangements while also reflecting on the generations who have worshipped, celebrated, and come together under the roof of this historic church.
