Ho ho ho! Christmas has come early for the lucky winners of a host of fantastic foodie prizes up for grabs as part of the visitor survey at this year’s Stone Food & Drink Festival. The winners were picked at random from over a staggering 600 entries; and all have now been informed by post or email.
Winners include (drum roll, fanfare… ) Jan Beach, Val Wimpory and Stuart Lippett of Stone and Sue James and Catherine McDonald – both from Stafford – who’ve each won a pair of three-day passes to the 2015 event.
Among the other prize winners are a J.Crisp (apt name!) of Daventry, who has won two places on the festival’s ever popular Midsummer Minibus Real Ale Trail; Stephanie Jostock of Stoke who has won Sunday lunch for two at Aston Marina; R. Proctor, also of Stoke, who has been awarded a gift voucher to use against a meal for two at any Lewis Partnership restaurant; Stone’s Nicola Evans, who won a three pack of Lymestone Brewery’s ales; <<name redacted>> of Stoke who has won a ‘golden ticket’ to enjoy lunch for two at Granvilles and fellow Stoke resident, Mrs A. Bailey, who will receive an iCookIndian spice tin. Woooooooooooo! Congratulations to you all!
Results of the survey, which was compiled and undertaken by the students and staff from the Tourism and Events Management department at Staffordshire University, are currently being analysed.
Festival Chairman Richard Stevens said: “We’re delighted with the number of responses that the survey generated and would like to thank the entire team at Staffordshire University for their hard work in making it happen; especially Professor Jon Fairburn and student Greta Liaudanskaite, who is managing the project as part of her final year dissertation.
“We are now eagerly awaiting the results of the survey, with a view to taking on board feedback and, where possible, using it to help ensure an even better visitor experience in the future. We look forward to working with Staffordshire University again in 2015; to once again roll out the visitor survey and also increase the input of student as volunteers throughout the course of the event. We’d also like to extend a huge thanks to The Lewis Partnership, Lymestone Brewery, Granvilles, Aston Marina and iCookIndian for their kind support in donating prizes.”
The 2015 Stone Food & Drink Festival will take place on the 2, 3 & 4 October – for more details visit www.stonefooddrink.org.uk
