Shoppers heading into Stone in the run up to Christmas will have three full days of free parking across all borough council car parks.

Stafford Borough Council confirmed this week that charges will be waived on Saturday 6 December, Saturday 13 December, and Saturday 20 December.
The offer applies to every council run car park in the town, including Christchurch Way and Crown Street.
A wider festive offer across the borough
The announcement forms part of a borough wide approach, with Stafford and Stone both included in this year’s scheme. Stone has more than 250 council operated spaces, scattered around short stay and long stay sites that many visitors use for accessing the High Street.
The borough council said the plan is intended to make Christmas shopping a little easier for families and to give businesses a lift at a time of year when footfall is key.
Councillor Aidan Godfrey said,
“I hope this will encourage more people to eat, drink and shop in Stafford and Stone to support our local businesses and traders and make this an even busier time of the year for them.”
Council Deputy Leader Rob Kenney added that this year has been challenging for many retailers.
He said, “We all have to support our local businesses, and I hope residents and visitors will take advantage of the free parking offer.”
What residents need to know
There is no need to display a ticket, and the offer runs all day on each of the three Saturdays.
Stone’s festive activities begin soon, with Christmas markets and the big Christmas lights switch on.
