Motorists will be able to park for free in Stone on the two Saturday afternoons before Christmas.
Stafford Borough Council has waived parking charges for motorists on its car parks in Stone and Stafford after 1pm on Saturday 15th and 22nd December. The council hopes the move will encourage more people to do their Christmas shopping and have festival meals and drinks in the town. It means thousands of spaces on around 15 car parks in Stafford, and three in Stone, will be free to use after 1pm on both those days.

The borough council’s car parks in Stone are at Westbridge Park, Crown Street and Christchurch Way.
