Motorists will be able to park for free in Stone town centre on two key dates in the run-up to Christmas.
Parking charges have been waived by Stafford Borough Council for its car parks in Stone and Stafford from 1pm on Saturday 13th and 20th December. There is already no charge for parking on Sundays on council run car parks across the borough.
Cabinet member for planning and regeneration, Councillor Frances Beatty, said she hoped the move would provide a timely boost for retailers and business in Stone.
Borough council car parks in Stone – at Westbridge Park, Crown Street and Christchurch Way – offer cash-free parking throughout the year so visitors can pay for their parking using their mobile phones, and top it up without having to return to their cars.
