Daring rescue demonstrations, Moorlands Radio, face painting and much more will be entertaining visitors to the Service’s Family Day on September 3rd.
The biannual event – which is free to attend – will take place from 11am-3pm at the Service’s Pirehill headquarters in Stone.
Young people can take part in various games on the portable sports arena StreetstadiaTM and enter competitions to win a host of top prizes up for grabs.
The Unimog, Aerial Ladder Platform and other emergency vehicles will be showcased and firefighters will demonstrate rope rescues and extrication techniques that are used in road traffic collisions.
Children can sign up to join the Welephant Club, find hidden prizes in a game of treasure hunt and play the ‘railway game’.
Refreshments including a barbecue, hog roast, baked potatoes, ice cream, pizza and cakes will be available.
