Funding boost for Stone band

Stone Scout and Guide BandA local youth marching band have received a welcome funding boost from Coop’s Local Community Fund. For the next 12 months, members of the Coop can help Stone Scout and Guide Band to raise money by simply scanning their membership card at the checkout in group stores.

It’s really easy to become a member. You can register online or download the app from your App Store or Play Store – it costs just £1. You’ll need to choose the Stone Scout and Guide Band as your local cause, then scan your card each time you purchase food or a service from the Coop.

“This is a welcome boost to the Band’s funds. We have big plans for next year and this money will go a long way to helping us continue our work with local young people.

As the cost-of-living increases hit already hard-up families, we are all too aware how difficult the situation is for many, so we aim to cover as many of the costs as possible to ensure that everyone can access this opportunity. We have a wonderful relationship with our town.

We love entertaining everyone at events and would be incredibly grateful for their support.”

Stone Scout and Guide Band practices on Saturday mornings, 10.00am until 12.30pm. If your child is aged 7 or over and would like to join, please email Kerry at ssagb1986@hotmail.com.
