A special concert is being held at St John’s Church to raise funds for a new community hall.
The Stafford Orchestra, with a number of soloists, will be performing ‘Music From The Stage’ at the church in Granville Terrace on Saturday 16th April at 7.30pm (doors open at 6.30pm).
Entrance is from the car park on The Avenue and tickets cost £6, which includes refreshments. Call Diana on 01785 251953.
The current wooden community building at St John’s had been in use for more than half a century but it’s been closed for the last six months because of problems in the roof. The church has decided to demolish the existing hall and build a new, modern facility in its place.
There’s a whole raft of fundraising going on, including Cyril Unsworth’s motorbike challenge.
