Board gamers will be battling it out this weekend in Stone at a two-day Geek Festival at the Crown Hotel – and raising money for two charities.

Organised by Stone’s Staffordshire Wargaming Guild, the event will see two featured games.

On Saturday 9th July from 10am until 10.30pm there’s sci-fi tabletop wargame Warhammer 40,000. On Sunday 10th July – between the same times – it will be Dungeons and Dragons. Click the links to sign up to either game. Organisers are asking for a donation of £1 for either day or £2 for both, with all proceeds going to the Douglas Macmillan Hospice and AED Donate.

The event is open to all ages and levels of experience. Lots of other games will also be available to try, and visitors are free to bring their own and set up if they wish. So if you’re curious about the world of board gaming, do drop in and get involved.
